Domino Dollhouse Closing

Hello Dolls,

It comes with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Domino Dollhouse will be going on an indefinite hiatus starting this November.  For the time being, I will be selling the current stock down and closing the website by November of 2015.  Domino Dollhouse has been a labor of love for almost 5 years but now I will be focusing on my growing family.  It is unclear if I will return in the same capacity, but I hope that it would be possible some time down the road.  I want to take this time to thank the people who have helped me run and create Domino Dollhouse, those who have patronized Domino Dollhouse, and the unwavering support of my dolls.

I strongly suggest that those with store credit or gift certificates please use them within the next few months, as they will no longer be valid after November of 2015.  I will still be around in a personal capacity on my blog and I hope that some of you will continue to follow me there to see the next part of my journey.

Feel free to send any questions my way at dominodollhouse@gmail.com.  Thanks again to you all for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Tracy

Domino Dollhouse

So as most of you are aware, I own and design for Domino Dollhouse.  I have always been interested in alternative fashion.  The fact that I can have a plus size exclusive boutique that caters to the girl I am, have been, and will be fills my heart with joy.  When I'm buying for the shop, I imagine a group of girls, not unlike my own friends, shopping together.  Each are different…one loves witches while the other is obsessed with kittens and another is gaga over fruit prints.  They are all friends, but all have their own distinct interests and personal styles.  Of course, I'm one of these women and I have my own favorites in my shop, now even more than ever!  Here are my favorite picks from my shop:

What are your favorite items in the store?  What would you like to see more of?  I'd LOVE to hear it in the comments below.

Celebrating Nothing

While visiting family in Berkley, I got to take some of my new Science/Vision Collection pieces on a test run.  I wore a version of this all weekend and nothing only did I love the looks, I was amazingly comfortable.  The Cloak Cardigan was my dream piece, layering it over everything.  The Thigh High Leggings are a PERFECT fit and the stretch suede fits the legs PERFECTLY…no baggy ankles!  Here are some photos of my favorite look.

And from now until 12/1/14, Domino Dollhouse is having a sale! Check the flyer for details:

Science/Visions Collection from Domino Dollhouse

My clothing label, Domino Dollhouse, has been undergoing some changes.  I have always wanted to create a line that is more my personal style, but haven't had the resources and means until this season.  For Winter 2014, I designed our Science/Visions collection with the goal to create really cool pieces that were comfortable and suitable for everyday wear.  I've put so much love and energy into making this happen EXACTLY like it was in my head and I couldn't be happier.  It launches on Friday 11/14/14 for the 4th Birthday of Domino Dollhouse.  Here is a sneak preview of some editorials we shot for the line.

A HUGE thanks to the crew on this one:

Warm Leatherette

Yes, it's still over 90 degrees here in LA.  Some might die for that weather, but I'm officially OVER it!  Give me sweaters, jackets, boots…*sigh*.  Here is a warm weather outfit for an early dinner I wore last week.  I'm OBSESSED with this Marc Jacobs top, size Large, that I found on sale at his Melrose shop. Proof positive to ALWAYS scope out designers you love…you never know what you might find!

6 Obsessions: Silver Geometric Jewelry

As the seasons start to change (or are supposed to...it's still 100 degrees here in LA), I always like to cultivate some points of focus for my wardrobe.  This week, I will be posting 6 of them total.  This post features silver, geometric jewelry.  I've always gravitated towards large, loud jewelry but I'm OBSESSED with the dainty pieces out right now.

I'm SO happy that ASOS Curve now has some plus size jewelry harnesses...this would look SMASHING over simple black dresses.  Click the Polyvore above to get all the shopping details!

6 Obsessions: Black Lace

As the seasons start to change (or are supposed to...it's still 100 degrees here in LA), I always like to cultivate some points of focus for my wardrobe.  This week I will be posting 6 of them total, starting with today's: Black Lace.
Black Lace Looks

Black Lace - This is a goth staple, but for Fall I like elegant hints of it, rather than draping head to toe.  How amazing is this bra from Lane Bryant?
I need it like YESTERDAY.   To get the rest of the details of the look, click on the polyvore image for full shopping details!

Nightsky

This past weekend, the family and I headed to the Santa Anita racetrack to check out the 626 night market, an Asian-themed night market and food festival.  It was SUPER crowded and quite large, so we only checked out about 20% of the offerings, but it was super fun.  Being 100 degrees, I needed an outfit that was comfortable and cool.  I reached for my new birthday Converse (black LEATHER!) and Babooshka kaftan.  Before we left, we snapped some shots.

Outfit Details:

Mesh Dress: Babooshka
Under Dress + Rings: ASOS
Necklace: Cheap Monday
Sunglasses: Domino Dollhouse
Shoes: Eastbay

We also took some yummy snap shots of our food scores + Remy enjoying her self.

We are quite lucky that we've been able to get out, even with an infant, and this event was entertaining. There's another one in Orange County in October. Check out their site for dates.

Interview with DARE Magazine

A month ago I was asked by the super chic Erin of ZeroStyle some questions for an upcoming Canadian plus size fashion magazine, DARE.  This online magazine came out today and is phenomenal! I'm so happy to be included in the first issue.  You can click the images below to go the readable magazine site.

OOTD: Valentine's Dinner

This past weekend my husband and I went out to a nice Valentine's dinner and I decided to break out some of my new favorite pieces.  Between the rings, the dress and the kitty-eared bowler hat, I was pretty happy with this look!

OOTD: Valentine's DinnerOOTD: Valentine's Dinner

Outfit Details:
  • Dress, Necklaces, Spiked Bracelets - ASOS
  • Leggings - Domino Dollhouse (re-stocked here)
  • Hat - Patricia Field
  • Rings - Evil Pawn Jewelry
  • Shoes - Agyness Deyn for Dr Martens
  • Other bangles - Torrid
I do love this ASOS dress, but be warned: it is NOT stretchy and the fit means that sometimes it's a bit hard to raise your arms.

And finally: if you haven't participated in Fatshion February yet, you should BECAUSE you could win one of 3 gift certificates to Domino Dollhouse!  See all the juicy details here.

OOTD: Wiggy

The best way to jazz up a bad hair day and a solid black dress? I opted for a lavender wig and Blackmilk x Jeffrey Campbell booties, obviously!  I wore this out to my friend's burlesque show and was surprisingly comfortable.  This ASOS silhouette is my favorite right now...LOVE!

I turned 31 this week and thought I'd change it up from the usual house party to a pool party, thanks to Tiffany's generosity (a pool is very much an integral part of a pool party!).  I wanted to spice up my FAVORITE ASOS dress (yes, I have 3 of the same sleeveless one above and 2 of the 3/4 sleeve style) with a favorite from the back of my closet: these winged Vivienne Westwood x Melissa platforms!  These shoes are surprisingly comfy and easy to walk in.  I also had my black/white striped Simply Be bikini on underneath the dress, but failed to take actual photos of the reveal. LAME, Tracy!

Agyness-Deyn-DrMartens
- Agyness Deyn for Dr Martens - those Aggy velvet creepers need to get on my feet like YESTERDAY.  They heart satchels are also pretty swoon worthy, too!

- Grenade Coin/Key Case at Patricia Field - I'm so loving this! I'm forever digging in my purse for the necessities and this baby, especially in hot pink, would be the perfect way to spot my keys.

- Francesa Lia Block's recent polyvore sets based on her characters - to be able to see one of my favorite author's outfit ideas for her characters...IS THIS REAL LIFE??

OOTD: Rocky

I got this fun and quirky Betsey Johnson sweater at her outlet in Ontario and I just LOVE it! It's a ruler print that says "Teach Me a Lesson". Cheeky! It's a bit short for my 5'9" and 44DDD frame, but that just makes it even naughtier. I paired this outfit for a friend's birthday celebration at a midnight Rocky Horror showing. Here are the pics + details!

Domino Dollhouse Rebel Rebel Collection

Photobucket

Influenced by British punk, girl gangs, and tough cookies everywhere, the Rebel Rebel Collection is an ode to those brave enough to stand out without apology. Bold colors, striking prints, and loud denim all come together to create an aesthetic that is ultimately badass, yet completely feminine.

With each Domino Dollhouse collection, I get more and more intense about the pieces, the styling, and the overall concept. Infusing my own personal style with what I think my dolls will love is the constant focus and I definitely feel like I'm getting more in tune with both aspects. This collection is full of awesome pieces that can be mixed up within the collection, but also with your existing wardrobe.

Here are my personal favorites that I will surely be snagging for myself.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

The collection should be out some time this week (or next at the absolute latest) and the garments will be priced at $45.99 to $69.99. Most of the accessories are for sale as well, so check out the full goods VERY soon.

<3 and chubbles,
Tracy
