Spring . Revamp
Full disclosure: while I still immerse myself in style and fashion on the daily, I am a mother of 2 very small children. I live in this ASOS Swing Tank Dress and a high bun…very little make up. Living in So-Cal, I can even go days on end without putting on shoes. However, both of my girls are walking and talking and gaining independence each day. I am beginning to feel like I can slap on a lipstick and take them out, so I am trying to update my wardrobe with easy pieces that add oomph without much fuss. Here is my current wish list for a spring upgrade!

Dust Hymn
I pretty much always wear head to toe black. But for Easter this year, I decided to pull out this Rachel Pally lilac number to embrace the holiday's pastel theme. It's still odd to see myself in light colors, but I LOVE this kaftan.

Spring Wishlist
I dare to say that I'm becoming predictable with these wishlists and inspos, but then I remind myself how few plus size blogs focus on darker fashion. It's important to keep showing new places and creative ways to rock an alternative style in a fashionable way, right?? With that small warning, I present my Spring Wishlist! I'm still all about flowing, lightweight tops, great boots, and killer jewelry. These tops from All Saints are PERFECT for pretty much any size and are oh so easy to wear. Want to know where else all these goodies are from? Click the image to go to my polyvore set for prices and links.
Full disclosure: the Gareth Pugh x Melissa Sandals and the glasses are already in my possession. But they were just TOO GOOD to not include. Also note that the Gisela Ramirez Bondage Briefs (which I would wear with the sheer skirt in the warmer months) are now 50% off with the code on her site.
There are a couple of items from Etsy that I'm drooling over as well, but since they cannot be worked into Polyore I'll include them here.

ALLIHALLA Garter Shorts

Nubambu Quartz Ring
There are also several pieces from my upcoming collection for Domino Dollhouse that I will be snagging for myself but NO SPOILERS yet, chubblettes!

I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but this past week has literally felt like someone flipped on the hot switch. Warm weather has always been SUPER annoying for me, as I love layers, jackets, and thick fabrics. What am I gonna do this time to keep cool without sacrificing any style points? Focus on these 4 pieces.
1. Large spike or pyramid earrings - a perfect touch for an updo or ponytail, that you'll inevitably have in the heat. Keep 'em tough, silver, and LARGE.
2. Edgey, intense sunglasses - people will be squinting to see what you have on your head! The weirder, the spikier, the better! By using an interest piece that is MADE to protect you from the shade, you'll get the best of both worlds.
3. Thin, dark tank tops - Your arms will be breezy, but never boring. Black on black ruffles and sheers can be easily translated by lopping off the sleeves.
4. Black Maxi Dresses - Flowy, comfy and incredibly cool (in more ways than one). Basic black dresses are all over the plus market, but don't stop there! DIY your favorite with spikes or studs from your local craft shops or throw on a studded belt just under your bust.
What are your go-to pieces during warm weather?

Spring Wedding
This April, I'm set to attend my brother-in-law's wedding in a gorgeous botanical garden in Southern Ohio. With my pink hair and penchant for over the top dressing, I've been in search of a setting appropriate dress that isn't obnoxious, but 100% my style. Since it's a big day for my newly extended family, I don't mind spending a bit on the dress, but I would also like something I can use again.
Here are the current front runners...what is your favorite?

This is a custom size piece (belt not included)...I'm thinking black tulle to be worn with a pink belt

And for shoes, I want to try a pair of Evans heels. Many reviews I've read talk about how comfortable they are and I'd love to incorporate more heels into my repertoire. My pick will depend on the style, of course.

Winter into Spring Wardrobe
If you are like me, you fall in love with certain pieces of clothing. When the seasons change, you don't want to store those things away...you want to work them in year 'round. If you stick with this core set of basics, you should be able to mix and match through out the year to keep you weather appropriate! With a little help from the fantastic selection at Evans, these fun selections will help visualize the tips!
From left to right, starting at the top:
1 + 2. Fabulously cut, "nice" t-shirts: These are perfect for every day wear and can be paired alone or layered, depending on the weather. Make sure that the cut is most flattering for your shape and extraordinarily comfortable. Boxy t-shirts aren't the only game in town these days. Long line tunics, hanky hems, and ultra deep v's will help keep this typical item exciting.
3. Black Cardigan: To keep this style fresh, opt for super long or cropped. Lightweight is best, as it can easily layer with a coat for winter or be worn for spring nights with a mini skirt or shorts.
4. Killer "Pop" Color Dress: A great dress in a solid, but colorful style can be worn anytime of year. Choose one with no straps or spaghetti straps so that you can remain cool in the spring or layer it with a moto jacket for the colder months. Knee length is best, as it straddles the weather lines nicely.
5. Moto Jacket: Seriously, it goes with everything. Opt for a lightweight leather or canvas and it can be worn in ANY kind of weather! Goes with party dresses, tees, most anything!
6. Sassy Bra: Fun underwear is a great way to life your spirits and your bust line. Why buy nothing but boring old basics? Let these peep over your tees, tanks, or dresses to add flair to your existing pieces. Paired underneath a coat, it can make your jackets sexy too!
7. Knee High Flat Boots: Whether you opt for cowboy, moto, or ninja boots, flat boots are amazing, no matter what the temperature. Pair them with leggings or pants in the winter or with minis/dresses in the spring and still feel seasonably appropriate.
8. "Wet Look" Leggings: This trend seems to have sticking power, so you should have no issue wearing these into the next season! Pair with sandals and a sundress for the spring or layer with boots and a jacket for the winter...and frankly: everything in between!
9. Sequin Tank Dress: Go for the sleeveless version and make your sequin frock last! Goes great with the moto jacket and leggings or with knee high boots for a saucy spring outing.
10. Denim Mini-skirt: This skirt is really great, because it gives a feminine shape to a classic AND adds some super trendy studs. Wear with leggings and boots in the winter or flats/sandals in the spring.
What are your favorite tips for extending the seasonal life of your favorite pieces?
