Winter into Spring Wardrobe

If you are like me, you fall in love with certain pieces of clothing. When the seasons change, you don't want to store those things away...you want to work them in year 'round. If you stick with this core set of basics, you should be able to mix and match through out the year to keep you weather appropriate! With a little help from the fantastic selection at Evans, these fun selections will help visualize the tips!

From left to right, starting at the top:

1 + 2. Fabulously cut, "nice" t-shirts: These are perfect for every day wear and can be paired alone or layered, depending on the weather. Make sure that the cut is most flattering for your shape and extraordinarily comfortable. Boxy t-shirts aren't the only game in town these days. Long line tunics, hanky hems, and ultra deep v's will help keep this typical item exciting.

3. Black Cardigan: To keep this style fresh, opt for super long or cropped. Lightweight is best, as it can easily layer with a coat for winter or be worn for spring nights with a mini skirt or shorts.

4. Killer "Pop" Color Dress: A great dress in a solid, but colorful style can be worn anytime of year. Choose one with no straps or spaghetti straps so that you can remain cool in the spring or layer it with a moto jacket for the colder months. Knee length is best, as it straddles the weather lines nicely.

5. Moto Jacket: Seriously, it goes with everything. Opt for a lightweight leather or canvas and it can be worn in ANY kind of weather! Goes with party dresses, tees, most anything!

6. Sassy Bra: Fun underwear is a great way to life your spirits and your bust line. Why buy nothing but boring old basics? Let these peep over your tees, tanks, or dresses to add flair to your existing pieces. Paired underneath a coat, it can make your jackets sexy too!

7. Knee High Flat Boots: Whether you opt for cowboy, moto, or ninja boots, flat boots are amazing, no matter what the temperature. Pair them with leggings or pants in the winter or with minis/dresses in the spring and still feel seasonably appropriate.

8. "Wet Look" Leggings: This trend seems to have sticking power, so you should have no issue wearing these into the next season! Pair with sandals and a sundress for the spring or layer with boots and a jacket for the winter...and frankly: everything in between!

9. Sequin Tank Dress: Go for the sleeveless version and make your sequin frock last! Goes great with the moto jacket and leggings or with knee high boots for a saucy spring outing.

10. Denim Mini-skirt: This skirt is really great, because it gives a feminine shape to a classic AND adds some super trendy studs. Wear with leggings and boots in the winter or flats/sandals in the spring.

What are your favorite tips for extending the seasonal life of your favorite pieces?
