I pretty much always wear head to toe black.  But for Easter this year, I decided to pull out this Rachel Pally lilac number to embrace the holiday's pastel theme.  It's still odd to see myself in light colors, but I LOVE this kaftan.

Luxe List: A Wishlist to Make One Weep

The older I get, the more I have little patience for "fast" fashion and poorly made pieces.  I find myself saving and eventually splurging more than a steady stream of lower-end buying.  Instead of making meh resolutions for 2014, I thought I'd focus on some aspirational pieces that make me smile.

John Fluevog Knee High Angels - I once tried on a pair of Angels and the cushy comfort has never left my mind.  I prefer 14-20 eye boots and they've only carried shorty's since I've been looking...until now.
Skingraft Buckled Bag - I'm CONSTANTLY looking for an incredibly cool black leather bag and this Skingraft number is amazing.
Rachel Pally Isa Dress - I actually have this dress in a forest green color that I nabbed on sale one year...DYING for a black one!
Isolde Roth Tunic - This cut is everything I dream of and more!

Seven Sacred Planets Pins - These are so beautiful that I would carry them/wear them wherever I went.
Bloodmilk Seance Cuff + Hecatate's Diadem Necklace - I have 1 bloodmilk piece and it only created a strong lust deep inside.  This cuff is a great measurement for a plus size bangle and I LOVE the moonstone of the necklace.

Plus Size and Pregnant: Maintaining Your Style

Ok, so if you follow me on Twitter, Tumblr, or Facebook, you might have read that I am pregnant.  It's been a long time in the making and I'm super happy to find myself 7 months along with a baby girl. Though I haven't had to make many clothing adjustments just yet, I have gravitated towards everyday clothing that will continue to work for the next few months and beyond.  Since I'm already tummy heavy, most of the cuts and styles that I gravitate towards are perfect for a growing bump.  The following pieces/places are my GO-TOs for comfort and continued style.


SWAK Designs:
SWAK is my first stop for perfect basics. They carry 1X-6X and while at first glance they might not seem like my kinda place, some of my favorite things come from here.  I wear the Pretty Camis, California Maxi Skirts, Sabrina Maxi Dress, and Lois Maxi Dress so often they have pretty much become my uniform.  They are all made in the USA (yay!) and will continue to work throughout my pregnancy and after. I buy multiples in black and always have something cute, comfortable, and stylish to wear.


Yours Clothing Leggings:
I have been wearing these nonstop! They are incredibly comfortable and fit awesomely over a large tummy bump without riding up or down.  I love the dark prints, but they have other style options too.  These may not work all the time for those who aren't tummy heavy, but for those who are they are a godsend.


Rachel Pally: 
I LOVE Rachel Pally dresses.  Her maxis and caftans are incredibly quality and ridiculously comfortable.  Her pieces are made in the US and are incredibly stylish. I like to scour eBay and 6pm.com to find her pieces at a great price.


eShakti:
eShakti has a wonderful selection of occasion and work attire, all available with custom measurements. It's PERFECT for when your bump starts to effect how standard clothes fit and offers plenty of options. I received an AMAZING dress from them and I will be debuting in an OOTD soon.

Extra Tips:

• Accessories are your friend - concentrate on adding gorgeous necklaces, rings, and bracelets to your basics to convey your style, since basics are much easier to come by in flexible sizes.  
• Jackets and Cardigans in open styles will finish off your looks and polish them up.
• Don't try to force fitted garments unless you are madly in love. It's an uncomfortable time, why not embrace flow and stretch.  Even if you've been afraid to before, you can still maintain a chicness with the right pieces.

Spring/Summer '13 Wardrobe Inspo

Now that it's officially spring and getting (even) warmer, I like to evaluate my wardrobe and what I'm inspired by in fashion right now.  Here are my current obsessions for my personal style this Spring/Summer 2013.

 
Quality Basics
For years, I just grabbed cute(ish) basics from Old Navy, Walmart, and Target but I must admit: I was forever disappointed with what I got. There was always something off with the design and even more off with the fit.  I started to look into getting less pieces at a slightly higher price and will NEVER go back to those crummy options.  Besides, spending $40 on a perfect tank top is cheaper than buying 4 different poorly made $14 ones that you don't love!  Above are my current favorite basics, perfect for LIVING in.  Go to brands? SWAK, Babooshka, and Rachel Pally.  Damn You Alexis also has some killer pieces.

 
Accessories in Clear, Hologram, and Iridescent
I've always loved futuristic styling and nothing says space ship like these materials.  They were HUGE on the runways, but I think translate well to regular life.  Also: what isn't fun about a little more sparkle & shimmer!?

 
Peridot
From eyeshadow to jewelry to fabric, this color (coincidentally my birthstone) has found it's way into my heart. I'm loving it for make up, particularly...eyes and nails!
