2012 Goals

It's about that time! I know it might seem like an odd thing to do almost a month into the new year, but it's been a busy 2012 so far. These are a mixture of personal items and business items, but that is my life right now!

- Release a new Domino Dollhouse collection every other month (6 in 1 year)
I'm really hoping to keep filling the shop with new and interesting items to keep things fresh and exciting. I love designing new collection but so far the process has been a little challenging, to say the least. Hopefully I will have the beginning to end process a bit more under control and I can keep the schedule up. My Spring line will come out towards the end of February and the lingerie one just launched last week.

- Learn to french braid my own hair
I recently shaved the right side of my head and it will be SO much more versatile if I can do this. Never too late to learn!

- Have zero brown colored walls in our home
Every room in our house had the SAME light brown walls when we purchased it in 2010. We've painted over most of them at this point, but there are a few that still need to be morphed into something more inspiring to me.

- Do at least 1 trunk show with Domino Dollhouse
I have yet to do any event in California where dolls can come and try on the clothing and hang out, so I really want to make this happen!

- Create a closet set up that focuses on current style
When I first set up my closet room, it seemed very straight forward to divide everything into specific types (tops/jackets in closet, dresses on a rack, skirts in a dresser), but I think it'd be better to put all of my current favorites of all types on one rolling rack and remix those. How do you organize your closet for optimum ease?

- Become 100% Credit Card Debt FREE
I recently spoke about a huge life change that would be impacting me and my husband. Well, he was laid off late last year and has already found a new job in his desired field...video games! Not to get into too many personal details, this goal is a possible reality for the first time since I was 22. Hugely exciting, if you ask me!

- Wear a body con dress + OOTD it
Although I have a huge interest in body acceptance, as with most people, I have a ways to go to acheive full self love. If you'd noticed, I do NOT wear anything clingy in my belly area. This year, I hope to break out of my comfort zone at least once and see how it feels. I got a great ASOS dress for Xmas and I think it'd be a perfect place to start.

- Buy for design + quality, not fast fashion
This is pretty self explanatory, but also I want to note that this will mean buying with smaller brands and companies and avoiding cheaply made corporation spending. I aim to get a really great black leather bag that I can get endless use from as my first application of this principal.

- Learn to make 2 kinds of soup
As the worlds pickiest vegetarian, I tend to get in a rut as far as home cooking. I love a good soup, but have NO clue how to make a decent one. Time to start experimenting!

What are your focuses in 2012?

Goals for 2011

Photobucket

Last year, I focused on finding our first home and starting my online plus size boutique. Mission Accomplished! These are such HUGE steps in my life that I was unsure where to go from there. This year will mark my last in my 20's, so I'm sure it will be a big year. After taking a Women and Aging class in college (my 19 year old self and mostly over 40 year old ladies), I realized early that getting older is NOT a bad thing. As with any new stage in life, there are good and bad things...so I'm not particularly freaking out about it. That being said, I would still like to make this 29th year a big celebration of youth, coupled with my more adult-y tendencies.

For serious or silly, here are my goals for 2011!

Photobucket

* Paint All of the Interior of Our House - The remaining brown walls make me cringe. Before the end of this year, I WILL vanquish that awful color.
* Make 80% of Domino Dollhouse stock My Own Designs - This is already underway, but on a very small scale...I hope to no longer be at the hands of the sad Plus Size wholesale companies anymore!
* Plant a Veggie Garden - Okay, so a very select garden, but I want fresh basil and tomatoes at the ready.

Photobucket

* Purchase a Rainbow Quartz Ring
* Take a Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Class
* Go on a Honeymoon - A real one. And preferably out of the country.
* Buy a pair of COMFY black docs - I know ya'll gotta be sick of those Pewter ones all the time
* Create a Domino Dollhouse lookbook
* Do OOTDs Several Times a Week - and get more of my "daily" wear, not just going out ensembles

Mid-Year Goals

We are approaching the 6th month of 2010 and I really want to focus on making this last half of the 2010 productive, entertaining and utterly wonderful. Here is a list of goals that I would like to accomplish by the end of this year.

* Own a home - we have been hoping for this for some time and we are actively trying to work towards this by the time our lease ends (October). After our wedding gifts last year and a nice check from Uncle Sam this year: we finally have a down payment. If all goes well, we'll be pre-approved and looking at homes soon. YAY!

* Launch my new project - I'm actively working on a chubby-centric project and I definitely want it viewable to the public before 2011.

* Thin out my wardrobe - I have more clothes than any person should own. I really do. In our two bedroom apartment, any available storage is probably filled with clothing, accessories, or shoes. Now, this might make more sense if they were all in use, but for the most part: they aren't. Expect eBay listings, as I don't want these pieces to not have a home! (there are the current items listed here.)

* Fixin' that hair - I want to try and keep my hair the same color + improve it's general health. This is TOUGH for me. So the yellow is here to stay!

And so this isn't just text, here are 2 quick look photobooth snaps from the past weekend!

Wishlist: January

This is my wishlist for January. By working out what I want and what I need for each month, I can be more effective at reaching the goals AND eliminating impulse purchases.
The basic idea is that I'm trying to eliminate my poor judgment with purchases so that in the end I have more $$, less stuff, and yet, a satiated feeling of shopping lust. *edit* As I purchase the items on my wishlist, I will turn the item titles into italics.

And with that: January!
