Two of my favorite designers, Zana Bayne and Chromat, featured plus size models at this past week's New York Fashion Week. I wore a Chromat mask for Halloween '13 and am SO EXCITED about the possibility of wearing some of their structural pieces on my body (you can currently buy custom up to a size 20). No word yet if they are expanding their sizes further than that, but Zana Bayne, on the other hand, has always welcomed bodies of all sizes. Her expansive collection of leather harnesses and gear have been available in custom sizing since she created her line years ago. Let's hope that other designers follow suit. As always, I encourage us to put our money where our mouth is and show these two designers our support by opening our wallets.

Madame Peripetie
I came across these outstanding images via Coilhouse. There article describes them better than I ever could, so, taken from the article:
"Madame Peripetie does it again. The Polish-born, Dortmund, Germany-based photographer, whose Insectarium shoot and collaboration with Eva Nyiri were featured on Coilhouse in 2009, has released a surreal, colorful new collection titled Dream Sequence. Some of the images can be seen here, and more can be found on her site.
Set against a stark, hazy black background, the dreamlike characters in these images appear to evoke haunted forests, chrome spaceships, traveling circus shows, and early-90′s NYC club culture. In almost every image, you can find a spray of brightly-colored wildflowers decorating the otherwise synthetic-looking subject, recalling these images of the Surma and Mursi tribes of East Africa by Hans Sylvester. New Gossip Video: Pop Goes the World
Inspiration from the current Queen of chubble avant guarde, Beth Ditto, comes in the form the Gossip's new video "Pop Goes the World". With a head of hair after my own heart and a dress to make a drag queen weep, this video is definately worth a viewing. Now who's up for making me a dress like that, huh?

Crystal Renn for Mark Fast
Crystal Renn walked for Mark Fast last week, thus continuing his use of plus size models on the runway. While I love Crystal, I'm not sure how to feel about these images. I don't care for the dresses...but I'm so happy to see these slinky knits displayed differently than the standard fair. It's sad, because I really loved his Spring/Summer 2010 line...yummmmy.
How do you feel about these?

*Click the image for a great interview with Renn and Stylelist.

Remembrance
In remembrance of cruelly losing the legendary Alexander McQueen, here is a photo montage of the gorgeous things he created for Beth Ditto.

And, who could forget, his PADDED dresses that turned his models into curvy bombshells.

RIP, Alexander.

If she gets tired of it...pass it over here!
I just LOVE this Pink Bones Jeremy Scott dress that he made for Gabby Sidibe! He posted this pic via his twitter. After making garments for Beth Ditto as well, I yearn for the day when I can purchase my own piece! Whaddya say, Jeremy???
