Though Hot Topic has carried plus sizes in the past, for the last few years they've left the plus size products to their sister store, Torrid. However, after a quick browse on the site, I recently discovered that they are now carrying novelty tees up to size 4X and some skirts and dresses up to size 3X. For those of us who like the edgier side of Torrid and are always looking for great casual wear: this expansion is a welcome re-return. From Hello Kitty to steampunk tees and from ruffle skirts to bow dresses, the selection seems better than their past expansions. I can only hope that this is a successful run at these sizes so that we can have another place to find unique, affordable street wear!

Swoonage: Alloy

Alloy is a junior's plus retailer that does a fairly good job of creating trendy, youthful pieces. The sizes are smaller than other plus size retailers and the prices reflect the quality, but as long as you go into your purchases knowing that, you'll find lots of winners. Shopping Spree: Faith 21

When I first heard that Forever 21 was going to carry plus sizes, I was super excited. Skip to a few days later when I heard that 2X was the max size they would carry. Bummer. Well, I guess that had great success and now most items go up to 3X and the cuts are savvy enough that I, a 4X, can wear many different pieces. Here are a few things that I've purchased and <3ed...I can't recommend them enough (I mean, seriously...$12 leopard skirt??)

Swoonage: Zaftique

If there's ever proof that you can't judge a book by it's cover, it's the online shop Zaftique. At first glance, it's filled with run of the mill, frumpy jersey dresses, mom-ish type pants, and boring flowy tops. However, with a closer inspection, they have a few unique gems that should not be passed up. Here is the current creme de la creme of their collection.
