OOTD: Collared

I first saw this collar on a adorable waitress at a Champagne bar in Pasadena. It was so adorable and unique I commented on it more than once. Flash forward to a few weeks later...I found it! Karmaloop has several version of this collar by Dimepiece Designs. Anyways, I'm so in love with it!

OOTD: Ramen Girl

This past Saturday, despite an increasing toothache (I need 3 root canals, which are happening this week...lucky me), my husband and I headed down to Little Tokyo to meet our friends Natasha and Vaclav for a dinner of delicious ramen. On the side of an adorable Kawaii boutique, Q Pop Shop, was this mural that was begging for an OOTD shoot!

I know this outfit is comprised of mostly old favorites, but I figured the fabulous backdrop made up for it!

The Love of My Life

We finished off the evening with the love of my life: Pinkberry's green tea yogurt, stuffed with raspberries and kiwi. My teeth cried out at the cold, but my belly sang with delight.

OOTD: Shreddy Bettie

So, if you read my twitter, you may have read that due to some back issues, I haven't been leaving the couch/office chair much. One of those "my heating pad is my best friend" kinda weeks. I was delighted when I woke up this past Wednesday without any pain. Hallelujah! This meant that I was, of course, chomping at the bit to get out of the house come weekend time.

Friday night we got word that two of our friends were coming up from San Diego to hit up Killing Spree at Medusa Lounge. It was a hipster-y goth kinda night, featuring bands like Adult. and New Order...and frankly, lots of others whom I just didn't know off hand. There were many giggles and butt wiggles, all in all ending in a good night.

Before hand, my husband snapped some pictures of my 'fit. Anybody sick of my Dr Martens and Beth Ditto jacket? I promise I have tons of other clothes...these are just my go-to comfy dancing duds.

Lastly: I've been wondering if perhaps I don't show enough of my personality and interests on this blog...it's mostly a fashion blog, but I'd love share more of myself. So, if you love reading my blog, please leave a comment with a fun question and I will answer them this week in a post. <3

The focus of this outfit is the fabulous moto jeans from Z Cavaricci. Torrid had them on their super clearance sale and I could not resist. Usually, at 5'9" I do not buy pants that do not have an extended inseam. However, with these at such a low price, were worth a shot. And they did NOT disappoint! They were plenty long and fit like a dream. The only issue I ran into was the fact that as with all fitted waist pants with stretch: by the end of the night, they ended up falling down. Since I'm not a pear shape, the hips that I have do NOT hold up the stretched out waist band. Lesson learned: next time they will be belted!

I read about the shredding technique on Musings of a Fatshionista and thought I'd give it a try. I have plenty of plain black tanks, so I opted for this trapeze style number and shredded the front. I love how it came out so long and asymmetrical (I think because of the trapeze cut, mostly). Thanks for the share, girl! I wore this out to Das Bunker for the Nacthmahr/Uberbyte show (which, BTW, featured Uberbyte's chubby female singer...SO ADORABLE!!!).

And for the make-up, the inspiration stems completely from my obsession with Lady Gaga's Alejandro video. After consulting with make up artist extraordinaire Natasha, she told me to snatch up the mac white eye liner pencil (in "Fascinating"), as it was the smoothest option for bleached out alien eyes. I do wish I'd had time to bleach out my eyebrows, but I opted for au naturale look this time. It's weird to not have so much dark eye make up on, but I think it's a nice change of pace.

I also love her goggle-headpiece so much that I've been buying up craft supplies to create something crazy...and when I do: you can check it out here!
