Broadzilla

We took a day trip out to DTLA to visit the Broad Museum.  The artwork is incredible and spirited…great for kids and adults alike. I wore my favorite Aakasha dress and Domino Dollhouse leggings (RIP) and snapped pics in front of some of the amazing collection.  Here are the details and images…

OOTD: Tim Burton

October proved to be quite busy and November isn't letting up. I just got back from a 2 week trip down the west coast for my anniversary (10 years together, 2 years married), full of shopping, visiting, + eating. I did a pretty good job of documenting our adventures, so stay tuned for some fun snaps! Right before we left, Joe and I headed to LACMA in Beverly Hills for the Tim Burton art exhibit. It was so, so amazing and while they did not allow photography inside, there were some choice areas to take pictures. And thus, I present a Tim Burton-y OOTD, complete with my new green hair.

Footless Tights: Zaftique by way of eBay
Headband: ASOS
Shoes: Target
Ring: Downtown LA

I'm also heading to Re/Dress's Indie+ Event with my shop, Domino Dollhouse, so I'm knee deep in product shipping, fashion show styling, and packing of my own. I really hope to see many of you there!

Madame Peripetie

PhotobucketPhotobucket

I came across these outstanding images via Coilhouse. There article describes them better than I ever could, so, taken from the article:

"Madame Peripetie does it again. The Polish-born, Dortmund, Germany-based photographer, whose Insectarium shoot and collaboration with Eva Nyiri were featured on Coilhouse in 2009, has released a surreal, colorful new collection titled Dream Sequence. Some of the images can be seen here, and more can be found on her site.

Set against a stark, hazy black background, the dreamlike characters in these images appear to evoke haunted forests, chrome spaceships, traveling circus shows, and early-90′s NYC club culture. In almost every image, you can find a spray of brightly-colored wildflowers decorating the otherwise synthetic-looking subject, recalling these images of the Surma and Mursi tribes of East Africa by Hans Sylvester.
